and what we never do.

Who is responsible

Cribside, an independent press. Questions, requests and complaints go to support@cribside.shop, and are answered by a person.

When you browse

The shop itself. Checkout, payment and order records are operated by Shopify on our behalf. Shopify sets the cookies needed to keep your bag and your session working, and provides us with aggregate traffic statistics.

Your bag. One value is stored in your own browser so your bag survives a page reload. It stays on your device and is cleared when the bag is emptied.

Advertising measurement. If you arrived from an advertisement, we may record that a page was viewed, how far you scrolled, whether you began checkout, and whether a purchase completed, so we can tell which advertisements are worth paying for. This is shared with the advertising platform that showed you the advertisement. It is not used for anything else.

When you buy

You give your email address and payment details to Shopify and the payment provider directly. Card and payment-account details never reach this site and are never seen by us.

We receive your email address and the details of your order, which is how the books are delivered and how a refund can be issued. That record is kept for as long as it is needed for delivery, support, refunds and accounting.

What is never done

Your email address is not sold, rented, or passed to anyone for marketing. There is no mailing list on this site, and buying a book does not subscribe you to anything.

Your choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser, and most browsers can block tracking of this kind outright. Blocking any of it will not stop you buying or reading the books.

To ask what is held about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted, email support@cribside.shop and say which address you used at checkout.

Children

These books are written for adults. Nothing here is knowingly collected from anyone under 16.
